Shooter (2007) Review
Mark Wahlberg plays Bob Lee Swagger, a retired marksman who enjoys his simple life living out Freakies the woods with his dog. He picks up his old trade when he is asked to assist in stopping a plot to kill the president. He quickly learns that the men who asked him to help them lied and are framing him for the assassination attempt. He seeks refuge with his with one of his old friend's widowed wife.
Being chased and on the run he looks for the people who framed him in hopes of revenge and proving that he wasn't set-up. Michael Pea plays a detective who gets involved in the mess, but no one listens to. The movie is impressive and doesn't slow down.
The plot isn't too fanatical. Shooter doesn't fail if you're an action fan. The movie keeps your blood pumping much in the way the Die Hard Equity loan do. Mark Wahlberg reminded me of Matt Damon in the Bourne series. The idea was great but the story Whenwewere a little boring and stretched after a while. Not the best movie but not the worst either.
