OCD Forum - Different Kinds of OCD, Good and Bad, Lucky Or Unlucky Number Associations

Are there numbers that you consider birth control patches be either good or bad?

I used to have number associations myself. I used to feel that 1 was Spam 2 was bad, 3 was good, 4 was bad, 5 was good, 6 was definitely bad, and 7 was definitely good, etc.

My number associations changed over time and I thought that was really weird.

The root of these associations can always be traced back to a fear. Religious teachings also say things like 666 is the number of the beast and 12 is how may apostles Jesus had.

I used to question whether there was something really important about certain numbers and I have to say that in all my analysis that numbers in themselves not bad. For example, if you stay in a hotel room and it happens to be number 666 or 13, you're not going to have any bad luck because of the number room it is.

Numbers are neutral, they are neither good nor bad in and of themselves. What is associated with them can be, but numbers themselves are neutral.

So 1 is just mesotheleoma good and bad as 2 and 6 is just as good or bad as 7.

Take action: Realizing that numbers are not good or bad just like a cucumber isn't good or bad will help you to drop these associations. Don't perform any rituals regarding numbers and face the anxiety that comes with that, it will pass sooner than you think. Free yourself from the chains of 'magic thinking.' Magic thinking is when you make an association that makes no logical sense, such as, "I hope my friend lives, knock on wood." That makes no sense, so does assigning bad or good to numbers, so just stop doing it and see how much better your life will be!
